Abstract
The purpose of community service scheme Program Pengembangan Desa Mitra (PPDM) in Randotonda Village is to increase the independence and welfare of partner group members in an integrated and sustainable manner, through extension activities and training in making bokashi and compost fertilizers. This activity involves the Seote Seate livestock group, which was formed in 2013, with a total membership of 24 people. The methods used were counseling, training and mentoring. The implementation of this activity begins with building a compost house with a size of 4 x 6 meters. In the compost house, there are two tubs that will be used for the fermentation process. The first tub measures 1.5 x 2 meters with a height of 2 meters, while the second tub is 1.5 x 1.5 meters with a height of 1.5 meters. Before the training activity begins with giving a pretest for the participants. The number of correct questions on the pretest averaged 34,4 percent out of 15 question numbers. The next stage of training activities, the tools are prepared; chopper, bucket, shovel, hoe, and, hand sprayer, while the materials prepared are agricultural waste and livestock manure, bran, rice husks, water sugar, EM4, and water. Through a fermentation process in the first box for 14 days and in the second box for 14 days, the organic fertilizer is ready to be applied. At the end of the activity the participants were given a posttest, the results showed an increase in the knowledge and skills of the participants, where the number of questions was correct 88,6 percent.
