Abstract

ABSTRACT Luya, Adelia Natalia. 2022. Archetypes in Lady Bird Film Psychoanalytic Approach. Undergraduate Thesis. English Literature Study Program. Faculty of Language and Literature. Flores University. Advisor I: Marianus Woda Liru, S.S., M.A.; Advisor II: Maksimilianus Doi, S.S.,M.Pd. The aims of this study were to find out the archetypes in Christine and find consciousnes described archetypes in Christine in Lady Bird film. The study used qualitative research method. The study used a psychoanalytic approach and teory of archetypes as the main theory from by Carl Gustav Jung to analyze the archetypes data and aspects of consciousness described by archetypes associated with Christine Character in the Lady Bird film. The data in this study were taken based on utterance and action. The results of this study show that there are three of eight types of arche and four aspects of consciousness decribe by archetypes that arise in Christine as the main character in the Lady Bird film. The first is archetypes in Christine which include animus, shadow, and self. The second is the aspects of consciousness that emerges from Christine character, namely perception, imagination, emotion, and action.
